London and Dublin
Lara Hutchinson is a Dublin-born voice artist with a naturally soft Irish tone that can glide between lyrical warmth and neutral clarity. With a background in audiobook narration and a love of storytelling shaped by literature, music and the natural world, she draws listeners in with a voice that feels intimate and quietly captivating.
Raised by the coast in Dublin, Lara Hutchinson developed an early love of the sea and the natural world – influences that still echo through her voice work today. Her sound is warm, soothing and lyrical, perfectly suited to storytelling that invites listeners to slow down and lean in. A nature documentary would be a dream assignment, but wherever the story takes her, Lara’s instinct is always to create an atmosphere that feels immersive and sincere.
Her voiceover journey began in audiobooks, including narrating an epic seven-book series set in ancient druidic Ireland – a project well matched to her degree in English and History. The books even required her to compose and perform original a cappella melodies, drawing on another lifelong passion: singing. Years of performing live with jazz musicians nurtured her love of improvisation and creative spontaneity, qualities that continue to shape her approach behind the mic.
Her work has since expanded into radio drama and gaming, including recording extracts for BBC Radio 4 and performing in a drama for Audible. One particularly memorable role came when game creators were so taken with her audition that they wrote a new character especially for her – a seemingly gentle woman whose fierce strength emerges when protecting those she loves!
